Zoe's Animated Movies

There are my top 5 picks for animated week! These are my favourite animated movies that I could watch on repeat no matter what. 

5. Finding Nemo (2003) - "Just keep swimming" - Dory. This movie that is set in the ocean is another Disney Pixar classic. Marlin's son Nemo gets taken by a human after he "touches the butt" and Marlin meets a fish called Dory with short term memory loss who helps him find his son. Watch as both father and son find more things out about themselves that they didn't know before. A definite must watch!

4. The Incredibles (2004) - Superheroes have been banned by the government, send into witness protection and forced to live normal lives. Watch the Parr family slip back into their super suits for a life of adventure rather an a normal suburban life. This movie probably has one of the best one-liners I've ever seen in a Disney film.

3. The Little Mermaid (1989) - A classic story of a rebellious teenage daughter going against the word of her controlling father, but this story is set UNDER THE SEA!! Watch Ariel fall in love with a man from land while she tries to get rid of her tail and swap them out for real legs.

2. How To Train Your Dragon (2010) - How could you not love a movie where dragons are pets! Watch Hiccup (yeah, his name is Hiccup) as he goes from the kid that no Viking wants to be associated with, to the dragon taming legend!


1. Monsters Inc. (2001) - This movie changed my childhood. I can still sit and watch this movie all day. Best friends, Mike and Sully stumble across a Code 2319 named Boo, watch them freak out as they have to find a way to get Boo back to her world.

5. Deadpool (2016) – This movie is not for the faint hearted or young or anyone really. This film possesses a very dark humour that you will feel bad for laughing at. I laughed at this movie a lot which is why it has made the top 5.  4. Watchmen (2009) – This film dives into sort of the anti-superhero genre, showing the  underbelly side of being a superhero in a troubled dark decrepit cityscape. I love this film because its plays with an alternate reality by mixing in previous real moments in history, and allows them to help navigate through the plotline.  3. X Men (2000) – What would Hugh Jackman do? Gosh what about those sideburns. What an absolute Australia legend, kicking mutant buts for about 90 minutes in this film.  2. Here are my top 5 superhero movies!  5. Deadpool (2016) - Basically a comedy movie with a superhero origin story plot, Ryan Reynolds kills it (pun intended) as Deadpool, the profane, fourth-wall breaking, invincible hero simultaneously trying to get revenge and get back his girl. 4. The Avengers (2012) - The culmination of several movies focusing on individual heroes to bring them all together for one star-studded adventure, the Avengers lived up to the hype, with the first half of the movie focusing on squabbles between the heroes before finally putting aside their differences for a large scale finale. 3. Captain America: Civil War (2016) - Similar to The Avengers, this film manages to balance multiple seperate superheroes each with their own storyline, while also containing the perfect mix of humour and action.
