Matthew's Animated Movies

Image
5) The Road to El Dorado (2000)- A hilarious flick about two greedy con artists who find themselves trapped aboard a ship to Mexico, and eventually treated as gods in a lost Mexican city. 4) Pokemon: Mewtwo Strikes Back (1999)- As a lover of all things Pokemon growing up, this was a favourite during my younger years, and is still a great watch for some nostalgia. 3) Shrek 2 (2004)- While the first Shrek will always be special, I believe Shrek 2 is a slight improvement, with a better plot, better humour and a better soundtrack. 2) Cars (2006)- Most people would rate several Pixar films above Cars, however this movie came out when I had a car obsession, and I've loved it ever since. 1) The Lion King (1994)- Funny, emotional, beautiful. The ultimate animated movie, and rightfully considered one of the best movies of all time. Matthew's Superhero Movies

Here are my top 5 superhero movies!  5. Deadpool (2016) - Basically a comedy movie with a superhero origin story plot, Ryan Reynolds kills it (pun intended) as Deadpool, the profane, fourth-wall breaking, invincible hero simultaneously trying to get revenge and get back his girl. 4. The Avengers (2012) - The culmination of several movies focusing on individual heroes to bring them all together for one star-studded adventure, the Avengers lived up to the hype, with the first half of the movie focusing on squabbles between the heroes before finally putting aside their differences for a large scale finale. 3. Captain America: Civil War (2016) - Similar to The Avengers, this film manages to balance multiple seperate superheroes each with their own storyline, while also containing the perfect mix of humour and action. Plus that airport scene is the best action sequence ever! 2. Watchmen (2009) - Set in the 1980s in an alternate universe, a bunch of retired ...

Matthew's Action Movies

5. Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) - Chaos. Thats the best word to describe this movie. The most recent addition to the Mad Max franchise, this film is a non-stop exhilerating thrill ride. 4. Casino Royale (2006) - No action list would be complete without a Bond film, and Daniel Craig's first foray into the character just beats out some of the more classic films as the perfect reflection of the famous spy in Ian' Fleming's inconic book series. 3. First Blood (1982) - Sylvestor Stallone stars as Rambo, a misunderstood war veteran hunted by US authorities. Expect blood and violence in this classic action adventure film. 2. The Expendables 2 (2012) - Sylvestor Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Chuck Norris, Terry Crews, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The ultimate action cast for the ultimate action film. 1. Furious 7 (2015) - Somehow the Fast and Furious franchise tops itself with each installment, with the 7th film being the most over the...

Matthew's Comedy Movies

5. Anchorman (2004) - Arguably the most quotable movie of the noughties, Will Ferrell and the rest of the cast deliver one classic line after another, and will remain on top comedy movie lists for generations. 4. Borat (2006) - British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen's first of several blockbuster comedies, this mockumentary follows Borat's adventures through the USA, with real life reactions to shocking situations. 3. Jackass: The Movie (2002) - Taking their antics from TV to the big screen for the first time, the jackass movie does not disappoint. Rather than a story or plot, this movie is just a collection of hilarious, shocking and sometimes disgusting stunts. 2. Bean (1997) - Two words. Rowan. Atkinson. The man is a master of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, bumbling through awkward situation after awkward situation with hilarious results. 1. Forrest Gump (1994) - While not the funniest film on this list, Forrest Gump is simply a masterpiece, intertwinin...
